March 2013

I'm envious of those who are able to blog everyday and share. Not the green eyed monster kind of envy but maybe just awestruck by there dedication and that far busier people than me manage to squeeze it all in.

So four 4 paintings half done this week and I hit a wall. It got to messy around here. Tubes of paints, cut out paper, dirty paint brushes......I'm not describing this well enough. Every square inch of my living room had art clutter. So I moved it to a room where I can't see it and after ppl leave this weekend I will deal with it and paint again.

On a personnel note, this week I was chosen to get a gift basket for a church member who is terminally ill after a long battle with cancer. Her faith is strong but she is still afraid. I hope I can find gifts that will comfort her and I hope that I find the right words in my card to give her strength, support, and grace to follow God without fear to the next place, his great kingdom.
I'm honored to have get this opportunity to give.

Art I've been up to for sale, prints and originals.

Putting art back up here on my blog. Some is new work, some have been done in the past two or three years. I'm trying at least to keep up on the social networking part of getting my work out here but it is an effort somedays. In just a five year period though I feel we have moved leaps and bounds into making the "sharing" process a little bit simpler .

2013 Paying it Forward

So today on Facebook I posted a 2013 challenge to pay it forward. This allowed five of my friends to sign up for a special treat from me in the year to come. It could be a call to a far away friend or a lovely warm muffin with coffee on a lazy morning. It's really fun but it got me thinking, it's easy to do a kind act for a friend but what I really love is a random act of kindness for a stranger!
Towards the end of this past summer I was at a drive thru picking up my weekly usual, grits and a biscuit, I asked the girl at the windows if the car behind me had an order under ten bucks (that's what I had on me) . Well they did. So I paid for their order. I didn't share this with anyone and I'm not sharing it now to look good in anyone's eyes but just to tell you how AWESOME I felt the whole day thinking maybe I spread some love! Maybe that stranger behind me smiled more that day just knowing someone out there cares. MAYBE they passed it on too. So this year I'm thinking Pass It On cards... Five of them. Do the deed, pass the card. Write the location of where it starts and maybe see where it goes. I don't know, I'm just thinking these cards could travel the world in a year! So to my five friends who said "pick me" I've got fun plans!! But, to commit to kindness to a stranger is really going to fill me with some joy this year.
